How many companies are there in Vilnius?
In short
Our Lithuania register snapshot holds 42,415 active companies registered in Vilnius. Transport and logistics is the largest identified sector at 6,331 companies, which is unusual for a capital city and reflects Lithuania's role as a road freight nation. Revenue coverage here is exceptional: 85 percent of Vilnius companies have a filed figure. Filed revenue is available for 35,891 of them, and 21,141, or 49.8%, have a website we can find.

The number
42,415 active registered companies with a Vilnius address. For a city of roughly 600,000 people that is a high density, and it reflects how much of Lithuanian business registers in the capital.
The most useful fact about this dataset is not the count but the coverage. 35,891 of the 42,415 companies, 84.6 percent, have filed revenue on file. No Polish or German dataset comes close to that, which makes Vilnius one of the easiest cities in Europe to target by company size.
Vilnius accounts for 18.9 percent of every registered company in Lithuania.
What these companies do
| Sector | Companies | Share of the city |
|---|---|---|
| Other | 6,746 | 15.9% |
| Transport and Logistics | 6,331 | 14.9% |
| Construction and Trades | 3,700 | 8.7% |
| Real Estate | 3,273 | 7.7% |
| Professional Services | 3,124 | 7.4% |
| Wholesale and Distribution | 2,901 | 6.8% |
| Retail and E-commerce | 2,737 | 6.5% |
| IT and Software | 2,086 | 4.9% |
Sector is derived from the registered activity classification, so a company with mixed activity is assigned to its primary one. The uncategorised group covers entities whose filed classification is too generic to place.
Revenue bands
Filed revenue is available for 35,891 of the 42,415 companies, from the most recent financial year on file. Figures are in euro.
| Revenue band | Companies | Share of those with revenue |
|---|---|---|
| Under 100,000 EUR | 15,415 | 42.9% |
| 100,000 to 500,000 | 10,507 | 29.3% |
| 500,000 to 2m | 5,856 | 16.3% |
| 2m to 10m | 2,998 | 8.4% |
| 10m to 50m | 894 | 2.5% |
| Over 50m | 221 | 0.6% |
84.6% of the city has a filed figure. The companies without one skew smaller and younger, so a revenue filter quietly biases the list towards established firms.
Website presence
21,141 of 42,415, or 49.8%, have a website in our data.
Most prospecting stacks start with a domain: find the company, find the site, guess the email pattern, verify it. Remove the site and the chain breaks at step one, so a domain-first workflow reaches only the online slice of the city.
What this means for targeting
Revenue filtering actually works here. With figures on 85 percent of the city, you can define an ICP by turnover and get a list that covers the market rather than a biased slice of it.
The mid-market is 4,113 companies. That is everything above two million euros. Above ten million there are 1,115. Those numbers are small enough that a serious campaign can reach every one of them.
Transport is the sector to know. 6,331 companies, the largest identified group, and Lithuanian hauliers operate across the whole European Union rather than domestically. A supplier selling to them is selling to an internationally trading business, not a local one.
Web presence at 49.8 percent is more than double the Polish rate, so domain-based enrichment performs unusually well in Lithuania.
How the count was made
The snapshot is built from Lithuania register data, deduplicated on registration number and filtered to entities with an active status. City is the registered address, so a company headquartered elsewhere with an operation in Vilnius is not counted here, and a holding entity registered in Vilnius with no local activity is.
Revenue is the most recent filed figure per company rather than a common year. Website presence means we hold a domain associated with the record, not that the site is live today.
Every figure on this page comes from one query against that snapshot.
