Belkins vs Cleverly: which fits your business in 2026

Done-for-you B2B outbound · Head to head

In short

Belkins and Cleverly are not really competing for the same job. Belkins runs cold email, LinkedIn and cold calling as one coordinated program with a dedicated team per client, built for scale across more than 50 industries. Cleverly runs LinkedIn only, fast and at volume. Choose Belkins when you need reach beyond LinkedIn and can support a larger program. Choose Cleverly when your buyers genuinely live on LinkedIn and speed matters more than depth. If your market is a few thousand companies in one European language, neither is shaped for you.

Most people comparing these two are really asking a different question: do I need one channel run hard, or several channels run together. Answer that and the choice makes itself, because Belkins and Cleverly sit on opposite sides of it.

We sell against both, so read this knowing that. What follows describes each fairly, and the section at the end says plainly where we fit and where we do not.

Where Belkins wins

Reach. This is the decisive advantage. Everyone with a job has an email address. Only some maintain an active LinkedIn presence, and the gap is widest exactly where a lot of European B2B money sits: manufacturing, logistics, construction, staffing and family-owned mid-market firms. A program that can email, call and message reaches a multiple of what a LinkedIn-only program can.

Scale. LinkedIn caps how many connection requests and messages an account can send per week, and that ceiling does not move when you increase the budget. Email volume scales with infrastructure, so a Belkins-shaped program can keep growing when a Cleverly-shaped one has plateaued.

Dedicated team. An account manager plus SDRs assigned to your account means someone holds context about your market. That matters more than it sounds once campaigns need iteration rather than launch.

Breadth of pattern library. Working across more than 50 industries means they have usually seen something adjacent to your sector, which shortens the guessing phase on messaging.

Where Cleverly wins

Speed to first touch. No sending domains, no warm-up, no deliverability risk to manage. A campaign can be live within days rather than a fortnight. For testing whether a new segment reacts at all before committing to a full outbound build, that is genuinely valuable.

Simplicity. One channel is easy to evaluate. You can tell within two weeks whether the audience responds, without disentangling which of three channels produced the result.

No deliverability exposure. Email programs can damage a sending domain if run badly. LinkedIn outreach carries account risk but not domain risk, which some companies prefer while they are still learning.

Fit with LinkedIn-native audiences. If you sell to software, startups, agencies, recruiters or modern professional services, your buyers are genuinely on the platform, and a focused LinkedIn program reaches them where they already are.

The question that actually decides it

Take 100 companies from your target list. Identify the specific person you sell to at each. Look them up on LinkedIn and count how many have a profile with activity in the last six months.

If that number is above roughly 70, a LinkedIn-first program is viable and Cleverly's speed advantage is real. If it is below 50, LinkedIn-only cannot reach your market regardless of how well it is executed, and the comparison is over: you need email, which means Belkins or another multichannel provider.

This one check is worth more than any amount of proposal reading, and both agencies will respect you for having done it.

What neither does well

Small single-language European markets. Belkins is built for scale and expects clients to arrive with settled ICP and messaging. Point that machinery at a segment of 1,500 Polish logistics companies and you exhaust the market in weeks. Cleverly cannot reach most of those companies at all.

Local-language depth. Both can arrange local-language work, but neither is built around it. If your reply rate depends on the email reading as though a native German or Pole wrote it, that needs confirming explicitly rather than assuming.

Published pricing. Both quote. If you want a number you can compare before a sales call, you will not get it from either.

Where Ripe Leads fits, and where it does not

We are a lean, founder-led outbound agency based in Vilnius, running cold email with supporting LinkedIn touches across the Baltics, DACH and Poland. The differences that matter against these two are narrow and specific: outreach written in the prospect's language across seven languages, lists built from public business data rather than bought, moderate volume that does not burn through a small market, and flat published pricing of EUR 3,750 the first month including setup, then EUR 2,850 per month, cancel anytime.

Where we lose to Belkins: they do cold calling and we do not, they can staff several countries at once and we cannot, and they bring far more vertical pattern experience. If you need scale or the phone, they are the better answer.

Where we lose to Cleverly: they are live in days and we need two to three weeks for domain warm-up. If your only goal is to find out whether a LinkedIn-active segment reacts, they will tell you faster and cheaper.

Where we win: a single European market, in local language, at a volume the segment can absorb, on a price you can see before you talk to anyone.

Questions to ask whichever you choose

What percentage of my list is reachable on your primary channel?

Ask for the actual check on a sample of your accounts. An agency that will not do this before quoting is selling capacity rather than diagnosing a problem.

Who writes the copy, and in what language?

Request a real sequence sent for a comparable client, with the reply thread. Translated copy keeps English rhythm and European readers notice.

What is the all-in monthly figure?

Retainer plus setup plus data plus tools plus software. Two quotes at the same headline rate can differ substantially once the extras are counted.

What happens in month two if the message underperforms?

You want a named iteration loop: who decides, how fast, on what evidence. First messages are usually wrong, and the recovery speed matters more than the starting quality.

What do I keep if we stop?

Sending domains, suppression lists, campaign learning. With LinkedIn-only programs there is often little to keep beyond a bigger connection list, which is worth knowing in advance.

The short version

Choose Belkins if your buyers are not all on LinkedIn, you want email and phone in the mix, your positioning is settled, and your market is big enough to justify a scaled program.

Choose Cleverly if your buyers genuinely live on LinkedIn, you want a campaign live this week, and you value simplicity over reach.

Choose neither if your market is one European country in one language at moderate volume, where a smaller program on published pricing will fit better than either.

Frequently asked

What is the main difference between Belkins and Cleverly?
Channel breadth. Belkins runs cold email, LinkedIn outreach and cold calling as one coordinated program with a dedicated team per client, across more than 50 industries. Cleverly is LinkedIn-first: connection requests and message sequences sent from your profile, deployed quickly and at volume. Belkins reaches more of a market and costs more to run. Cleverly starts faster and is capped by LinkedIn's own connection limits.
Which is cheaper, Belkins or Cleverly?
Both quote rather than publish, so treat any specific figure you see elsewhere as unreliable. Structurally, a LinkedIn-only program like Cleverly's sits at the lower end because the channel is cheap to operate: no sending domains, no warm-up, no data infrastructure. Multichannel programs like Belkins cost more because email infrastructure, data and calling all carry real cost. Compare on all-in annual cost divided by genuine conversations rather than on monthly rate.
Which one is better for European markets?
Belkins, in most cases, because email reaches European decision makers that LinkedIn does not. In Poland, the Baltics, and much of German-speaking industry, production managers, logistics directors and owners of mid-sized firms frequently have no active LinkedIn presence. Cleverly works well against the European segments that do live on LinkedIn: software, startups, agencies and modern professional services, largely in English-speaking or highly English-fluent markets.
How quickly can each one start?
Cleverly is faster to first touch because LinkedIn outreach needs no sending infrastructure, so a campaign can be live within days. Belkins reports first outreach often launching within about 14 days, which reflects the list building, domain setup and warm-up that email requires. If you are testing whether a segment reacts at all, speed favours Cleverly. If you are building a channel you will still be running next year, the setup time buys you reach.
When is neither Belkins nor Cleverly the right choice?
When your market is a few thousand companies in one language, both are the wrong size or shape. Belkins is built for scale and expects settled positioning, and Cleverly cannot reach buyers who are not on LinkedIn. A single-market European program in Polish, German or a Baltic language, run at moderate volume on published flat pricing, is a different product. That is the gap Ripe Leads fills, with the honest caveat that we do no cold calling and cannot match Belkins for multi-country capacity.
